DIED--On Tuesday, January 19th, 1886, at his residence, in Pilot Knob, after a long period of illness, MR. CHRISTIAN WEBER, aged 66 years.
Mr. Weber was an old and respected citizen of that place, and has lived to see his children grow up to man and womanhood. He has served his time, done his duty to all the world, and no doubt is reaping the reward promised all who live uprightly. Peace to his ashes!

Last Thursday week an explosion of dynamite took place on Pilot Knob, resulting fatally to a boy manipulating some of the dangerous stuff. The dynamite had become hardened in the frosty night, and to soften it, it was placed in warm water in a can. The boy, TOMMY WELSH, aged about sixteen, then put a tight-fitting lid on the can, and placed it near the forge fire in the blacksmith shop. Several persons were in the shop, and were conversing when the dynamite exploded, tearing the can into pieces too small to be seen, killing poor Tommy, and seriously injuring Henry Rapp, who may yet lose an eye in consequence. Two other men were injured, but not seriously, as it turned out, although for a day or two, they suffered considerably from the shock. "Little Tommy Welsh" was a general favorite, and his anguished parents and relatives have the sympathies of the whole community.

Obituary--NANCY B. WHITWORTH, wife of Isaac G. Whitworth, died at her home in Ironton, Mo., Dec. 12th, 1869, aged 43 years, 3 months and 24 days. Disease was typhoid fever.
